Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using our website, hosting, infrastructure and services. It applies to you and anyone who uses services through your account. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. By using our services you agree to comply with this AUP.

1. General principles

You must use our services lawfully, responsibly, and in a way that does not harm us, our other clients, our infrastructure, or any third party. You are responsible for all content and activity on your websites, accounts and services.

2. Prohibited content

You must not use our services to host, store, publish, transmit or link to content that:

  • is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
  • infringes any intellectual property right, including copyright, trade marks or database rights;
  • is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or invades another person's privacy;
  • is obscene, or constitutes child sexual abuse material (which we will report to the authorities);
  • incites hatred, violence or discrimination, or is otherwise abusive;
  • contains malware, viruses, or other harmful or deceptive code;
  • misrepresents your identity or impersonates others; or
  • breaches any applicable law or regulation.

3. Prohibited activities

You must not, and must not allow anyone to:

  • gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, network, account or data ("hacking");
  • send spam or unsolicited bulk or commercial messages, or breach anti-spam and electronic marketing laws (including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations);
  • operate phishing, fraud or other deceptive schemes;
  • distribute malware, or carry out denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, port scanning or penetration testing without authorisation;
  • mine cryptocurrency or run resource-intensive processes that place an excessive or disproportionate load on shared infrastructure;
  • circumvent or interfere with security, usage limits, or authentication;
  • resell, sublicense or provide services to third parties except as permitted in writing; or
  • use the services in any way that could damage, disable or impair our systems or another user's enjoyment of the services.

4. Email and messaging

You must comply with applicable email and marketing laws. You must not send spam, use harvested or purchased lists without a lawful basis, or send messages with misleading headers or subject lines. We may apply sending limits and anti-abuse measures to protect deliverability and our infrastructure.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Keep your account credentials secure and enable two-factor authentication where available.
  • Keep software, plugins and themes up to date, and apply security best practices.
  • Maintain your own backups of important data in addition to any we provide.
  • Ensure you have the rights and consents needed for all content you publish.
  • Comply with the terms of any third-party services (including registries such as Nominet).

6. Monitoring and enforcement

We do not routinely monitor content, but we may investigate suspected breaches and access accounts where reasonably necessary to operate our services, protect our infrastructure, comply with the law, or respond to a complaint. We may remove or disable content, throttle or suspend services, or terminate accounts that breach this AUP.

7. Reporting abuse

If you believe content or activity on our services breaches this AUP, please report it to info@brylo.co.uk with relevant details so we can investigate.

8. Consequences of breach

Breaching this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your services without refund, removal of content, recovery of any costs we incur, and — where appropriate — reporting to the relevant authorities. We may take any action we consider reasonable to protect our services, our clients and third parties.

9. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. The "last reviewed" date above shows when it was last changed, and continued use of our services means you accept the current version.
